Through the Forest

This painting depicts a landscape of the University of Idaho Arboretum in Moscow, Idaho. When creating this painting, I had spent four years in Moscow, and I learned many things from the area itself and the people who live there. It is most definitely my home away from home; I sometimes think I could never leave. The threads and paper cover the trees and pathways. On the kozo paper, the small printed text contains stories/memories of my time in school and around town. I purposely printed the stories small and on long strips of paper so viewers could interact with the piece, such as moving around the painting to read the text.
